News Letter April / May 2019 Wednesday,Apr 17, 2019 | 08:04 AM
Firstly, we would like to apologise for any convenience caused due to the recent suspension which led to the setting being closed temporarily. A big thank you to all parents whom have been patient and supportive by emails and phone calls though this difficult time. The management team understands that this suspension has also made it difficult for working parents/carers whom have had to make alternative childcare arrangements.
During the closure the staff have been extremely busy, they took part in a first aid training course, started to develop the gardens and the rooms have been refreshed and rearranged to ensure the children are received the most out of their learning environment. Please take the time to look at the hard work that has been continued over the last few weeks.
Next, we would also like to welcome Nicole, Daniella and Chelsey to our team. The newest staff members have settled well into the nursery and all bring new, fresh ideas that will be implemented in the coming weeks.
The children who have started back at the nursery are continuing their Spring activities as well as preparing for Easter. In May, the children will be planting seeds visiting the local park and learning about farm animals. We have lots of events coming up so please remember to check the dates in the ‘Upcoming events’ section.
We have recently been made aware that there are some families who are eligible for the Early years pupil premium (EYPP) This is for families who have a low income, adopted children or looked after children. If you think you this may apply to you, please speak to someone from the management team.
Going forward the nursery will be moving over to ‘Tapestry’ to upload the children’s learning journals. This is an online system that will be accessible by parents, you will be able to access your child account and view the observations, photos, videos and progress reports as well as leave comments and add your own observations. We have a permission form that needs to be completed to enable us to add you to the system so if you have not yet received one please speak to a member of the management team.
An audit has been done on all the children’s files and we have noticed that some information is not up to date, therefore we are asking all parents to complete a new registration form to ensure we have the correct details. Again, if you have not yet received a new form please speak o a member of the management team.
Lastly, the nursery has recently decided to set up a social media account (Facebook/Instagram) for all parents/families or potential families to keep up to date with any events/news or see photos of the activities that have been taking place. If you have not yet received a permission slip for this, please speak to a member of the management team.

“"I currently have my son at this pre-school and I think it was my best choice. My son can be very difficult sometimes, and without the support of his key worker and manager, I would be lost. They are helping us in every sense, very good advise and working together (at home and pre-school) is excellent!!! We can notice the big improvement. All the staff are very professional and caring. "”
“"Overall, we absolutely love this pre-school. Words can’t express our gratitude and appreciation for all the hardworking staff at Rising Stars!!! Highly recommended."”
“"I currently have twins within this pre-school. They are both Autistic and they can be very much hard work but the SENCO who is also the twins' key worker never fails to smile or teach them something new. They are both very toilet trained and are talking a little bit more every day. She has helped them eat by themselves, drink by themselves, ask for things and even be nice and say 'I love you', words I never thought I would hear."”
“"My children are both non-verbal and have meltdowns regularly but their key worker seems to just know them and there needs, she is always there if I need her and is always willing to help to make sure they get the best start in life. I see my children extremely happy and improving every day."”
