We have been so impressed with all of the fantastic fancy dress outfits and he children have had a spooktacular week! The winners for the pumpkin carving competition will be announced shortly.

The children will begin learning about winter and the changes that are happening (leaves falling.) We will be teaching the children about the different weathers that come with winter including snow, rain and wind and what we need to wear to keep warm! The children will be learning through science experiments, outings and a range of exciting activities.

The children will also be learning about being unique, over the next few weeks they will be taking part in a variety of activities where they can notice similarities and differences as well as being given the opportunity to talk about what they would like to be when they grow up. The children will be encouraged to speak about themselves in positive terms and express themselves through music and movement.

What you can do at home:

Pear: Looking in mirrors, talking about their facial features, making sensory bottles with coloured water, shaving foam, leaves etc.

Plum: Sticking cotton wool to make clouds, collect nature resources whilst out for a walk, ice play. Emotion stories and cards.

Cherry: Experiment ice melting, drawing own faces, look for people from different occupations when outside and talk about what they do. Talk about where we are from and different countries.

Orange: Making a rain gauge out of an empty bottle to collect and measure rainfall. Talk to the children about what they want to be when they grow up and what they are good at. Talk about where we are from and different countries, this can be extended by learning about which animals live in colder climates.
