Each member of staff undergoes induction training, which covers areas such as safeguarding children, equal opportunities, health and safety and working together as a team.
Members of our team are required to attend training in first aid and safeguarding regardless of their previous experience. Successful applicants are required to provide a minimum of two references and need an enhanced, clear check by the disclosure barring service (formerly called CRB).
We are committed to supporting the on-going professional development of our staff through local courses, staff meetings and in-house training and recognised childcare qualifications including NVQs.
The nursery has Operational Directors, Nursery Manager and Room Leaders who have experience and knowledge to run the nursery.
We use BrightHR a smart software that transforms our staff management such as

We also bring staff wellbeing with a health and wellbeing app which provides proactive wellbeing tools and engaging features. Our staff are given access to use MY HA Health assured app to help their mental, physical and financial health by using personal metrics, personalised content and four-week plans to set goals and celebrate achievements.
My name is Steph and I am the Nursery manager. I have 14 years’ experience in childcare and hold a level 3 qualification in the children and young people’s workforce. I’m currently completing a level 5 apprenticeship in operational management. I’m very passionate about my career and strive to make a difference to children’s lives by ensuring they have the best possible start in life.
In my spare time I enjoying cooking and love to experiment with new foods, especially learning family recipes from my Cypriot and Sri Lankan heritage. I spend a lot of my time with my friends and family, taking part in adventurous activities or days out. I am recently engaged so most of my time is spent planning my dream wedding! I have a big interest in interior design and have been personally renovating my own home over the last few months which has helped me to gain lots of new skills. I have a long bucket list of things I’d love to achieve in my life, so far I’ve been fortunate enough to have been sky diving, worked abroad for a Summer, swam with dolphins, climbed the O2, snorkelled in the middle of the ocean, been parasailing and travelled to lots of beautiful countries across the world! I also enjoy exploring different destinations across the UK and want to travel as much as possible!
My name is Nicole and I am a level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner and the Deputy Manager. I am currently completing a level 3 apprentice in team leading and management. My journey in childcare began 6 years ago, I have always strived to take part in as many training courses as possible and I am the SENCO at Rising Stars and have a passion for ensuring that all children are given equal learning opportunities. I have Level 2 qualifications in both ‘Understanding Autism’ and ‘Working with individuals with Learning Disabilities’.
In my personal life I am passionate about looking after my physical and mental well-being. I have a strong passion for implementing mental health teaching in early years and giving children the best possible space to express their feelings. I attend the gym multiple times a week and love to eat well. This is reflected in my work as I am enthusiastic about physical play, teaching children about their food and nutrition. My hobbies include reading books of the thriller and mystery genre, listening to podcasts, going to the gym and taking part in amateur photography. In my spare time I love to explore the outdoors by walking. Whilst I walk I often take photographs and edit them. I am hoping to extend this hobby into a qualification in the near future. I also love listening to music of all genres and watching YouTube videos about makeup and fashion. My biggest use of social time is spent attending football matches up and down the country and overseas, as I am a huge Chelsea fan. Some of the places I have been to watch Chelsea play include Amsterdam, Prague and Istanbul. I love to travel whether that be in England or abroad.
My name is Sumeet Brar. I have over fifteen years experience in early years and a bachelors degree in fashion designing. I hold a level 3 in early years education and a level 5 in management in early years. I started my career as a nursery practitioner and worked my up to become a nursery manager. I managed a nursery setting for ten years and then opened two more settings under the name of Rising Stars PreSchool.
I am now the Director of Rising Stars which is also my family business. I am proud of setting up Rising stars as this was my vision and my passion. I always believe in creating a healthy working atmosphere for my dedicated team. My team is welcomed like a family where we all work in partnership with parents to give the best to their child.
I have first-hand experience of working in a demanding nursery environment and knows how responsible it is to take care of and educate preschool children and try to achieve their goals. I understand the importance of learning through play in a secure, safe, age appropriate, stimulating, fun environment.

I live in Essex. I enjoy walking, taking holidays that involve exploring the countryside on foot. I love going to the theatre, visiting art exhibitions, and spending time with my friends and family.
Third In Charge / Room leader
My name is Bethany. I have been in childcare since 2016. I am level 3 qualified and I’m currently at university working towards my BA Hons in Early Years. I am also completing my level 3 Team leading apprenticeship. I am the room leader in Plum room and also the third in charge.
I offer to the team listening and communication skills, to help children to develop the language they need in the prime area of the EYFS. I am completing BSL training outside of work and hope that this is something that I can bring to work and teach to the children in our care.
I have a key interest in cats and spend my time at home with my cat Milo. I enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym regularly and spending a lot of my time in the outdoors walking. I am also a keen ice skater and enjoy hours at a time on the ice! I love to travel the world. The best destination that I have visited so far is New York as I went at Christmas time and it was beautifully magical. My travel bucket list includes a hot air balloon ride across the Egyptian pyramids and swimming with pigs in the Bahamas.
My name is Katie and I am a level 3 qualified practitioner. I started working in childcare in 2019 and it really is my passion. Some of my hobbies include reading, taking long walks to explore new places, spending time with my family and friends, music and crafts. I used to be in a marching band where I played the flute and piccolo, through this I had the chance to visit so many countries and participate in some amazing shows and concerts such as at Disney Land Paris where I marched through the Disney castle gates behind the parade and performing at the beating retreat in front of the Queen. I have always had a passion for music both listening and creating it. This is something I love to teach the children about and hope to engage them through music and movement. I also spend a lot of free time making keepsake crafts, this is something I really enjoy doing and love gifting to my family and friends, I am really passionate about creating new things and using natural resources to make keepsakes and again is something I would love to get the children engaged in.
My name is Abigail; I am the Room leader in the Cherry room. I started working with children in 2016 and find pre-school a really rewarding age to work with. My hobbies include theatre and musical productions. I used to perform in local and national competitions, as well as in ‘Mardi gras’ with theatre professionals. I also used to take my own classes where I worked with preschool aged children teaching them their ‘first steps’ in tap, ballet, and acrobatic disciplines. This is something I want to introduce to both Cherry and Orange room to further support and encourage the children to take an interest in the arts! I also enjoy spending time travelling and visiting new places, my favourite being Greece. In the future I would love to travel to Asia and explore different cultures and way of life, possibly whilst working there. In the future I would like to go to university and complete a BA Hons in Early Childhood, or achieve a QTS.
My name is Jenna, I am a level 3 practitioner and the room leader in Pear room. I have completed a team leading training course to further my skills and I have been in childcare since 2017.
I have a passion for performing arts and have been dancing for 18 years, including tap, ballet and jazz. Some of my biggest performances include dancing at the Royal Albert Hall and the O2 Arena. If I could meet anyone in the world is would be Beyoncé because I am a big fan of her music.
I love to travel any my favourite place so far would be Australia; whilst I was there I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In the future I would like to go to University and study Play specialism as I have a strong passion and interest in children’s play.
My name is Elle, I am a level 3 qualified practitioner. I’m very passionate about learning new things and supporting children in their development. I love shopping and spending my free time with my friends. I like to bake cakes and sweet treats when I am at home. I also love to walk my two dogs that are called Bernie and Boycie. I usually walk the dogs with my parents to the local parks. I love to travel and in July 2020 went to Malta with my cousins for an entire month. I love Spain and plan to visit the country again; I thoroughly enjoy their music and culture. I also love K-pop music and my favourite band from that genre is BTS. I am very artistic and received an A* in my art GCSE, I am often given the task of creating new exciting resources for the children and in my spare time I have been creating clay trinkets pot.
My name is Louisa. I have been in childcare since 2014, before that I had a passion for performing arts. I had been in the industry since I was 3 years old. I have done TU commercials as well as being in some West end shows such as ‘Billy Elliot’ and ‘Charlie and the chocolate factory.’ I have previously been a figure skater and enjoyed horse riding.
I have recently taken up kayaking and paddle boarding and would love to s, ride a motorbike, go parasailing and solo skydive!
I have a son and whilst I was pregnant I self-taught myself how to knit and now I find it very therapeutic and has becoming a hobby of mine. I love to watch Disney films with my son; we love to sing and dance together. I am also a huge Friends fan and would love to go to the Friends fest one day!
My name is Chelsey. I have been in childcare since March 2018, I am level 2 qualified and I’m currently creating an apprenticeship to complete my level 3. I believe I offer the team a calming personality to provide children a way of dealing with their own emotions in a positive way, I also have a family of my own who I love to do activities with, such as taking my daughter to gymnastics and my son boxing. I enjoy big family holidays and travelling the world, my favourite country that I have visited is Dubai. My dream is to one day spend Christmas in Lapland with my children and to have a holiday in the Maldives. Summer is my favourite time of the year and I love to be outdoors socialising in the sun with friends and family. I really enjoy listening to music from genres such as garage, house and the 80’s. On the top of my bucket list is to experience a sky dive and I’m hoping to do this in the next few years.
My name is Chloe. I have only been working for around a year, after spending the last 2 years as a childcare student at Rising stars. I spend a lot of my spare time at home, and in that time I enjoy watching movies, such as Disney movies, Harry Potter, and the marvel movies. I also like listening to music, and am slowly building my vinyl collection, because they are my favourite way to listen to music. I also enjoy attending shows of the artists I like, and love the feeling of hearing a song live that you’ve listened to for a long time. I’m a massive tattoo fanatic; I adore what you can do with tattoos, and how you can put artwork on you which will last for the rest of your life, that reflects an important part of you. I only have one so far, but I am hoping to get many more in future, since I believe they are a great way to express yourself.
My name is Jaime and I have been working in childcare for over 20 years. My roles are to housekeep and keep the nursery clean so you will often see me floating around the nursery and helping whenever the staff need me. I am a Mum of 3 and spend a lot of my time with my family. I like to go to the cinema to watch films from my favourite genre that is true stories. I enjoy experimenting with cooking and my favourite thing to cook is cakes! I love anything to do with arts and crafts and being creative. One of my favourite pass times is crocheting and sewing. I am able to make things from clothes to blankets. In the past I have hand crotched clothes and blankets from premature babies. At the weekend, I support the Romford Raiders who are our local ice hockey team. I attend this with my husband and my daughter. I am fascinated by the history of the royal family and the world wars. You will see me floating around the nursery making sure everything is clean, tidy and in its place.
As I adore cooking I look for new recipes to try out from time to time from cookbooks, TV shows and videos online and due to this I love to travel around the world and try different cuisine with my family. My favourite countries to visit was Malaysia due to diversity of flavours in their cuisine.
I have just recently grown an appreciation for gardening and like to plant my own flowers, fruits and vegetables in my very own garden.
